A local furniture store which opened Nov. 19, 2020, will soon be closing its doors.
DuBois-based Miller Home Furniture & Mattress, 3010 Pleasant Valley Blvd., is holding a total inventory liquidation sale.
Miller had moved into the former Value City Furniture building after Value City closed in 2018 and the building was purchased by Jeff S. Long Construction.
Miller Home Furniture was founded in 1969 by Dorothy and Jesse Miller in Hudson, a small village near Punxsutawney. The business, which has two additional locations -- in Falls Creek and DuBois -- is owned by Pam Miller, the founders' granddaughter.
Meanwhile, the fate of a furniture bank at 310 Union Ave. remains unknown, said Pastor Mike Hammer of TCC Altoona.
House to Home Furniture and More, which opened in January 2021, was a joint venture between Miller Home Furniture & Mattress and Element Church (now TCC Altoona). The church has been the facilitator of the bank.
