U.S. District Judge Stephanie L. Haines, residing in Johnstown, this morning upheld sanctions imposed on Bishop McCort High School and its student wrestling program by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
The sanctions bar McCort wrestlers from the PIAA post-season tournament and placed the program on probation for two years.
Haines ruled the PIAA sanctions will not cause "irreparable harm" to the students and that the civil rights lawsuit brought by the parents is unlikely to succeed as the court case moves forward.
