A 17-year-old charged in an alleged school shooting plot has been released on bond and the Westmont Hilltop School District has been notified about it, Cambria County authorities said.
According to WJAC reports, Upper Yoder Township Police Chief Don Hess said Preston Hinebaugh's bond has been posted.
He, along with Logan Pringle, also 17, are facing charges in the case that stemmed from a trespassing incident earlier this month in which Hinebaugh allegedly let Pringle into Westmont Hilltop High School.
As police were investigating the trespassing case, they found guns inside Hinebaugh's home.
Hinebaugh faces charges related to terrorism, attempted aggravated assault, criminal trespassing and possession of a firearm by a minor, while Pringle is charged with criminal conspiracy related to terrorism and aggravated assault, according to
court documents.
While Hinebaugh has been released from prison, all bond conditions, previously approved by Magisterial District Judge Susan Gindlesperger, must be met, including house arrest, GPS monitoring, no access to firearms and no trespassing on school property.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, said Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer. The investigation involves local, county and federal authorities.
