A Tyrone man faces charges after allegedly shoving a woman into steps and cutting her mouth, according to court documents.
Shane Christopher Lewis, 29, was arraigned Saturday by Magisterial District Judge Fred B. Miller for counts of simple assault, harassment and other charges, the criminal docket stated.
Police allege Lewis was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman July 3.
According to the criminal complaint, Lewis screamed obscenities at the woman and spit in her face.
The woman told police that after she shoved him away, Lewis charged up the stairs, grabbed her and took her phone.
Lewis then allegedly shoved her into the wooden steps in the kitchen and placed his hand over her mouth, the criminal complaint stated.
Police said Lewis allegedly had an item in his hand, believed to be a spoon, that caused the woman's mouth to bleed.
Upon arriving on scene, Police reported bruising on the woman's head, a scratch on her neck and a laceration above her lip.
Police said a young child witnessed the alleged assault and was screaming in the bathroom.
Unable to post 10% of $15,000 bail, Lewis is currently detained at Blair County Prison.
He is to appear before Miller on Aug. 10 for a preliminary hearing.
