Protest rally set for Wednesday

A rally will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, on the steps of the Pennsylvania Capitol to protest the imposition of Critical Race Theory philosophy and teaching in schools.

“We reject dividing America into groups of oppressors and the oppressed. This is America, where tens of thousands of truly oppressed try to come every year,” event organizer and No Left Turn in Education-Pa Coordinator Lois Kaneshiki said in a statement. “In America, you can be what you want to be if you work hard and if the public schools will focus on their actual mandate — educating children,”.

Speakers will include Laura Zorc, director of education reform at FreedomWorks; Marc Scaringi, local attorney and conservative talk radio host; Pastor Joseph L. Green Jr., St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and 2019 Movement Founder; Rep. Barb Gleim, HB 1532 prime sponsor to remove CRT from schools; and Jonathan Butcher of the Heritage Foundation.
