A city man faces one felony charge of drug manufacturing after police allegedly found meth in his vehicle during a traffic stop, court documents stated.

Joseph Anthony Cassarly Jr., 40, was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge Benjamin F. Jones after allegedly transporting 15 grams of meth, the criminal complaint stated.

According to police, Cassarly was stopped by police on the 300 block of 29th Street on July 9. During the stop, officers allegedly discovered meth, a capped syringe, an empty stamped bag and a spoon with residue on it hidden under the driver's seat, court documents state.

Police said officers also allegedly found 1 gram of suspected crack and $1,414 in cash, which Cassarly allegedly said was his.

Cassarly is currently detained at Blair County Prison after being unable to post a cash bail of $5,000.

He appeared before Jones Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, and a formal arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 27.
