Two Altoona residents are facing felony theft charges after attempting to steal clothes from Boscov's on June 16, court documents state.
Lisa M. Schmidt, 38, and Quaaim Joyner, 34, each were charged Wednesday with one count felony criminal conspiracy and one count felony retail theft.
On June 16, a witness told police Schmidt selected several clothing items, then handed them off to Joyner, who staged them in a fitting room, police reported.
Later, Schmidt entered the fitting room with a duffel bag, then exited with the duffel bag fuller than when she entered, court documents stated.
Boscov's loss prevention staff approached Joyner and Schmidt in the parking lot as they were leaving the store with the duffel bag, police reported.
Ultimately, the duo returned all the merchandise they didn't pay for, which was valued at about $600, court documents stated.
Preliminary hearings for both are scheduled in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio on Sept. 23, court documents stated.
