York man accused of assault
Frederick
Police charged a York man with sex crimes Tuesday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a baseball dugout, court documents stated.
John N. Frederick, 28, was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Daniel DeAntonio on a single felony count of indecent assault as well as a count of harassment, according to court documents.
Police responded to UPMC Altoona for a report of sexual assault Tuesday morning. The victim told police Frederick used his fingers to penetrate her during a walk with a mutual friend in Geesey Park, police reported.
A second male, who the victim was staying with, was reportedly walking with Frederick and the victim at some point, but police documents didn’t state where he was during the alleged attack.
The victim and Frederick allegedly entered a dugout in the park, and once inside, Frederick allegedly became aggressive and started shoving the victim, pulling her hair and putting his hand in her pants, police reported.
The victim was able to stop the attack and told police she walked around with Frederick and the second male for another hour before returning to the house where she was staying with the second male, court documents stated.
When questioned, Frederick said he had no idea what happened to the victim, police reported.
Unable to post 10% of his $25,000 monetary bail, Frederick is currently jailed at the Blair County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 23 with DeAntonio.
