Police arrested a Hollidaysburg man Wednesday after he allegedly violated a protection-from-abuse order and entered a woman’s house while she was sleeping, court documents stated.

Paul K. Walk, 37, was arraigned Thursday by Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller on charges of terroristic threats, stalking, harassment and criminal mischief, according to court documents.

The victim told Altoona police when she went to bed Wednesday night, Walk was not in the residence, but she awoke a short time later to find him standing over her despite a PFA prohibiting him from being near her, police reported.

As she awoke, the victim and Walk began arguing, then Walk allegedly took her phone from her hand.

As she tried to retrieve her phone, the two allegedly engaged in a physical altercation during which Walk forced his knee in the victim’s abdomen, police reported.

The two tumbled out of the bed and onto the floor during the scuffle, and Walk allegedly used a phone cord to strike the victim, court documents stated.

Walk allegedly disengaged from the altercation after the victim’s 10-year-old son entered the room and started striking Walk’s back, police reported.

Over the course of several hours, Walk and the victim continued to argue, during which Walk made vague threats to harm himself, threatened to set the residence on fire and said if the police were called “a body bag and an army” would be needed, according to court documents.

At one point, Walk allegedly set fire to an automatic chair massager, but quickly put it out before the fire could spread, police said.

The victim and her son left the residence, but after leaving, Walk allegedly threatened his own life and said he would drink antifreeze, court documents stated.

Unable to post his $50,000 cash bail, Walk has been detained at Blair County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21 with Magisterial District Judge Ben Jones, according to court documents.
