A Patton man died in a Clearfield County house fire Friday night, and another man has been taken into custody for his alleged role in the incident, according to published reports.
Jonathan Gallaher, 36, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted homicide, according to Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers. Gallaher also faces several arson-related charges, Sayers said.
Matthew Troxell, 33, of Patton, died in the blaze, according to Clearfield County coroner Kim Shaffer-Snyder.
State police said the fire began just after 9 p.m. on the 600 block of Main Street in Coalport, and was ruled an arson by a state police fire marshal.
A full autopsy is pending on Troxell, and additional charges may be filed, Sayers said.
Gallaher is housed in the Clearfield County Prison.
