James Lang of East Freedom is seeking a four-year term for Freedom Township Tax Collector on the Republican ticket.

Lang, 31, of Mount Pleasant Street in East Freedom, is 2007 graduate of Central High School. He has been employed by Freedom Township as an equipment operator, road crew, and for the Freedom Township Water and Sewer Authority.

Lang has been a member of the Freedom Township Volunteer Fire Company for 15 years and currently holds the position of assistant fire chief and

secretary.

Lang served six years in the military and was deployed to Afghanistan.

James said serving his community as a firefighter is an important part of who he is and he said that running for tax collector is an opportunity to serve Freedom Township in another capacity.

“Freedom Township has so much to offer,” James said. “I want to serve this community and help it thrive.”
