Beatty announces bid for Altoona Council

1 min read

Republican Ronald Beatty has announced he is running for City Council.

Beatty was born and raised in Altoona, and has been married to his wife, Kathie, for 41 years.

"We bought our home a month before we were married and raised and educated our three children here," Beatty said. "I have been in business in Altoona since 1976 and totally self employed since 1990. As a small business owner, I have experience in every aspect of managing: personnel, finance, hiring, health care, litigation and purchasing equipment. I am sure that this experience would be a benefit to the city council."

Beatty currently serves on the Redevelopment Authority and Land Bank of the city of Altoona and the Blair County Convention Center Board of Directors.

"I have serviced thousands of homes and businesses in Altoona and interact with the public every day," he said. "Altoona has some challenges ahead and I feel that strong mature leadership is necessary. I know the city well and would like to see it prosper.

"In summary, I am pro: God, family, business, law enforcement, 2nd Amendment, Constitution and Pro-Life."
