Pair accused of theft from alleged drug dealer

Police arrested two more men in connection with the theft of an alleged drug dealer's drugs, court documents stated.

Altoona resident James K. Ross-Johnson, 21, and 19-year-old Kyler Luckadoo, who has no fixed address, were arraigned Thursday by Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller on numerous felony charges, including burglary, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and aggravated assault, according to court documents.

On Jan. 21, Luckadoo and Johnson-Ross allegedly aided Jason Sanderlin, who was arraigned Jan. 30, in stealing marijuana from Dakota Holliday in the wee hours of the morning.

The theft was discovered by police when they acted on confidential information that Holliday might be selling marijuana, but a search of his home only yielded a small amount of the controlled substance, a criminal complaint stated.

Holliday allegedly told police he did, in fact, have more marijuana a few days prior, but he was robbed at gunpoint, police reported.

After Holliday shared surveillance footage with police as well as screen shots of social media posts, police identified Sanderlin as a suspect, court documents stated.

When questioned, Sanderlin allegedly confessed to the burglary and told police the incident was organized by Johnson-Ross, who allegedly arranged for the clothing, firearms and transport used during the robbery, police reported.

After Sanderlin told police Luckadoo drove him to the scene and was with him during the burglary, Luckadoo allegedly confessed, telling police they "got him," court documents stated.

Luckadoo refused to tell police who else was involved, police reported.

A warranted search of Luckadoo's phone revealed 458 communications between himself and Johnson-Ross between Jan. 18 and Jan. 30, a criminal complaint stated.

Police further investigated Luckadoo's phone, discovering Luckadoo's phone was near the burglary site within 24-hours prior to the incident, as well as around Johnson-Ross's residence and a residence known to be associated with Ross-Johnson in Cresson, court documents stated.

Both Sanderlin's and Luckadoo's phones were shut down about an hour before they allegedly robbed Holliday and turned back on the next morning, which Sanderlin told police Johnson-Ross instructed them to do, police reported.

A search warrant was compiled for a residence with ties to Johnson-Ross in Cresson, and there police discovered a stolen handgun as well as yellow, plastic ties, which were similar to those used during the Jan. 21 burglary, court documents stated.

Luckadoo told police the firearm found in Cresson was the same one he used during the burglary, police reported.

Johnson-Ross, who is on state parole for a prior robbery, refused to speak with police about the incident, according to a criminal complaint.

Unable to post his $350,000 cash bail, Luckadoo is currently detained at Blair County Prison, court documents stated.

Johnson-Ross was also unable to post his $250,000 bail and is detained at BCP.

Preliminary hearings for both men are scheduled for today with Miller.
