The Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center is now offering a baking and pastry arts program to high school students and adults.
The program's curriculum covers skills like mixing, shaping and baking for a variety of foods, preparing students for careers in restaurants, hotels, bakeries, grocery stores and baking manufacturing companies.
Chef Pamela Kenawell, a GACTC alumna with eight years of culinary arts teaching experience, will teach the course.
Students in the program will be able to earn industry certifications like OSHA 10, ServSafe Food Handler Certification, ServSafe Allergens and ServSafe Workplace.
