Pennsylvania State Police accused a Roaring Spring man of engaging in a sexual relationship with a girl younger than 16 years old, Bedford County court documents stated.

Bailey K. Musselman, 22, was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Brian Baker on charges including statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old, according to court documents.

In mid-December, Musselman was reportedly providing alcohol to minors in the Bedford area and state police learned he might be having a sexual relationship with the victim, police reported.

When police questioned the victim's mother, she said the relationship was unlikely, because Musselman was the victim's tutor and their time together was chaperoned, court documents stated.

However, the victim's mother said she recently found multiple bottles of alcohol in her daughter's room, according to a criminal complaint.

When a child advocacy representative interviewed the victim as a result of the allegations, the victim said she and Musselman engaged in consensual sexual acts multiple times, starting in October, police reported.

The victim told interviewers she and Musselman talked about their age difference, but Musselman told the victim the relationship was worth the risk, because he was in love, court documents stated. When asked her feelings about the situation, the victim reportedly said she felt bad, because she was at fault, too, and she didn't want Musselman's life ruined, according to a criminal complaint.

During an interview with state police, Musselman allegedly told police he and the victim met through friends in July and confirmed the relationship became sexual in the fall, court documents stated.

On Tuesday, Musselman reportedly told police he and the victim had sex as recently as "last week," state police reported.

Released on an unsecured bail of $50,000, Musselman's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 13 with Baker.
