Area projects receive $2.5M in grants

HARRISBURG — Three Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants totaling $2.5 million were awarded for health care and economic development initiatives in Cambria and Clearfield counties, according to state Sen. Wayne Langerholc Jr., R-Cambria.

Saint Francis University will receive $500,000 for Phase 4B of its Rural Health and Wellness Complex project, which includes the renovation and expansion of Sullivan Hall. Once completed, Sullivan Hall will feature a modernized learning environment with digitally equipped classrooms, seminar rooms for small-scale, interactive classwork and a range of specialized laboratories.

Telehealth Suites LLC will receive $1.4 million to revitalize the former Cambria-Rowe Business College building as an opioid monitoring call center. The project includes land acquisition, plumbing construction, a new HVAC system that incorporates COVID-19 prevention technology, replacement of electrical wiring and systems, abatement and contingency.

Clearfield County Economic Development Corp. was awarded $600,000 for the development of a 20,000 square-foot, steel-shell building on an approximate 5-acre lot in the Clearfield Commerce Park.
