GACTC gets funds for safety plans

The Greater Altoona Career and Technical Center will receive nearly $112,000 to help with health and safety plans and for resuming operations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Gov. Tom Wolf announced about $10.5 million will be going to career and technology centers statewide.

Greater Altoona will get $111,998; Admiral Peary Area Vocational Technical School in Ebensburg will get $55,511; and the Bedford County Technical Center will get $33,173.

“CTCs across Pennsylvania are preparing students to enter the commonwealth’s work force, and our communities depend on having these highly skilled students complete their education and earn their certifications,” Wolf said in a release. “This funding will help these institutions resume instruction safely.”
