Four employees of the Bedford County Correctional Facility have tested positive for coronavirus, according to Warden Troy Nelson.
No inmates are symptomatic, Nelson wrote Friday in an email.
The infected employees are quarantined at their homes "per protocol," Nelson wrote.
The first case was confirmed about a week ago, according to Nelson.
The jail is following all state Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, "with enhanced sanitizing measures," Nelson stated.
There currently are about 50 staffers at the jail and about 165 inmates.
The state Department of Corrections is also reporting the death of an inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Benner Township, Centre County.
There has only been one positive case at the facility -- that of the deceased inmate, according to the DoC website.
Five inmates have died of COVID-19 at SCI-Huntingdon in an outbreak that peaked several weeks ago.
It's not clear from the DoC website how many inmates were infected, but 165 have recovered, while four inmate cases are "pending." Fifty-four employees were infected, with 43 having recovered and 13 cases pending.
One county
stays yellow
With eight counties, including Huntingdon, having gone to the green phase of reopening on Friday, the administration announced that all counties that remained in yellow -- none are still in red -- would go to green Friday, except one. That is Lebanon County, to which the administration administered a scolding.
"Against the advice of public health experts and against orders from Gov. Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine aimed at keeping Pennsylvanians healthy, Lebanon County commissioners voted 2 to 1 along party lines to prematurely reopen in late May," the department stated in an email. "Now, the county is facing an uptick in cases, and is unable to move to green."
The county has averaged 16 new cases per day since June 4, according to an analysis of the DoH archives.
"Lebanon County's partisan, politically driven decision to ignore public health experts and reopen prematurely is having severe consequences for the health and safety of county residents," the email stated, quoting Levine.
