HOLLIDAYSBURG -- PennDOT has announced that work will resume on 19 miles of Interstate-99 in Blair County.
Beginning Monday, Grannas Bros. Stone and Asphalt Co. Inc. of Hollidaysburg will begin placing recessed white reflective pavement marking tape on I-99 from Exit 33 (17th Street) to Exit 52 (Bald Eagle), in the north and southbound directions. The work is expected to take two weeks to complete.
The work will be done under daylight traffic control with lane closures. Delays should be minimal.
Work on this portion of the $33 million project is expected to be completed by late-May.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said in a release that work will be done in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state Department of Health guidance, using a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan.
The plan includes protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job-site and relevant training.
