Altoona police have identified the victims of a double homicide in the city.

Natalie Washington, 52, of Altoona, and Mikal Jackson-Stevenson, 28, of were found shot to death about 11:30 a.m. Thursday inside Washington’s first floor apartment at 2606 Beale Ave. Autopsies were conducted Friday.

Altoona police Sgt. Matthew Plummer said Friday that the relationship between Washington and Jackson-Stevenson remained unclear and that detectives continue to track down leads in the case.

Police again are asking the public for any video surveillance footage from homes or businesses in the area, particularly from cameras focused on the Beale Avenue Alley within a several-block radius of the home.

“We collected an abundance of evidence from the apartment and a Chevy Tahoe,” Plummer said of two search warrants executed on Thursday evening. The Tahoe, parked out front on Beale Avenue, was rented in Philadelphia, but Plummer declined to say if Jackson-Stevenson was driving it.

Police said Thursday the killings appear to be an isolated incident.
