Drive-by paintball shootings probed
Victims said shots came from silver-colored SUV
A series of drive-by shootings with a paintball gun is under investigation in Altoona.
Altoona police Sgt. Matthew Plummer said Thursday that three people were hit in separate incidents on Wednesday.
In the first incident, about 4 p.m. near Ninth Avenue and 19th Street, a 16-year-old girl was shot with paint balls as she rode her bike.
Just before 6 p.m., at Eighth Avenue and 24th Street, a man was shot with a paintball gun while he was riding a bicycle.
The last reported incident was just after 9 .m., when an 18-year-old told police he was shot at by a paintball gun in the area of Second Avenue and 15th Street.
Plummer said all three victims gave the same description of the vehicle from where the paint balls were shot — a silver-colored SUV.
