SANDY TOWNSHIP -- Charges are pending against a Brockway woman who is accused of going the wrong way on I-80 and causing a crash that killed a DuBois man Saturday afternoon.

Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers confirmed Shara Franco, 33, of Brockway was the driver traveling westbound on the interstate's eastbound lanes.

State Police at DuBois reported that the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Franco struck two vehicles near mile marker 99.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Ryan V. Muirhead, 43, of DuBois was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer Snyder confirmed Muirhead's death on Sunday and said an autopsy is scheduled for today.

Three others in his vehicle and the other drivers were reportedly taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The accident shut down the interstate at exit 97, causing traffic to be rerouted onto Route 255 for several hours.

State police said that homicide by vehicle charges are now pending against Franco and an investigation is ongoing.
