Tyrone woman faces DUI charge

TYRONE — A Tyrone woman faces charges after police say she was found passed out behind the wheel of an SUV.

According to Tyrone police, when officers arrived at Logan Avenue and 14th Street just after 3 a.m. Tuesday, 27-year-old Megan Mignogna was found unconscious behind the wheel of the SUV. Police noted the SUV was still in drive and the only thing keeping it from traveling into the middle of the intersection was that Mignogna, although passed out, still had her foot on the brake.

Police managed to open the passenger side door and put the SUV into park before they started talking loudly to wake the woman.

Police said Mignogna appeared intoxicated, and after a check by ambulance personnel to confirm that she wasn’t having a medical emergency, Mignogna attempted and then failed field sobriety tests. She told officers she had been drinking, but “not that much,” police noted.

A blood test showed Mignogna’s alcohol level to be 0.224 percent and she now faces DUI and related charges.

Starting at $3.83/week.
