Police: Saxton man abused boy

EVERETT — A Saxton man is in jail accused of sexually assaulting a young boy in his home.

Devin C. Miller, 19, of Saxton, allegedly assaulted the young boy between Sept. 1 and Sept. 11 in his home.

The investigation began on Sept. 16 when the state police at Bedford’s Criminal Investigation Unit were contacted by the Bedford County Children and Youth Services about suspected child abuse at a Liberty Township home.

On Sept. 19, the young victim was interviewed at the Cambria County Child Advocacy Center.

The victim told police that he sleeps in his mother’s room every night, but on the night Miller allegedly abused him, his mother was not in the room.

The victim told police that he woke up as Miller was taking the victim’s shirt, pants and pull-up diaper off and began touching him.

When police asked the victim where Miller allegedly touched him, he pointed to his chest, behind and groin area.

The victim told police that while Miller was allegedly touching him, the victim sang “baby, baby, baby go away.”

The victim told police that Miller quickly left when his mother came into the room.

On Feb. 20, Miller was scheduled to take a polygraph test at the Hollidaysburg state police barracks, but during the prepolygraph interview, Miller allegedly confessed to inappropriately touching the boy on one occasion.

Miller was charged with felony counts of endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault of a victim less than 13 years of age.

Miller was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Brian Baker and lodged in the Bedford County Jail on 10 percent of $25,000 bond.

He faces a preliminary hearing on Feb. 26, at Bedford County Central Court.
