Penn State Altoona police have charged three men over an encounter with a woman in a campus parking lot in which the men allegedly yelled at the woman before she was struck in the arm.
Police charged 19-year-olds Gary Baker, Travis Barnhill and Timothy Shoeman, all of Altoona, with misdemeanor disorderly conduct over a Dec. 5 incident where the three allegedly yelled at a woman who was walking along a campus parking lot sidewalk after the three and an unidentified man were refused entry into the Steven A. Adler Athletic Complex gym about 4 p.m.
According to the charges, the men yelled, "Get your f-ing hands up, it's the campus police," and continued to demand that she put her hands up and also that she get down while repeating that they were with the campus police.
The woman kept walking, and they continued to berate her until the four men ran to a vehicle, climbed in and backed out through a parking space and drove off campus.
Video surveillance cameras captured the incident and all three were contacted by Penn State Altoona police about the incident on Dec. 6. Police said the three made appointments to speak with police, but none of them showed up.
The three men were charged Thursday by summons and are scheduled to appear at Central Court for preliminary hearings on Jan. 29.
