Veterans outreach set for Ashville VFW

ASHVILLE -- Veteran Community Initiatives Inc. will hold a Rural Veteran Outreach Program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ashville VFW, 158 W. Main St.

The event will provide information to veterans and their families about potential benefits available.

Presenters will provide in­formation concerning med­ical care, disability claims, job search assistance and information about Veterans Court and Operation Family Care­giver.

Some of those who will be on hand include representatives from the Cambria County Veteran Affairs Office, Cambria County commissioners, Van Zandt VA Medical Center, DuBois Vet Center, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, Pennsyl­vania National Guard State Family Program, Veterans Leadership Program, Office of Vocational Rehabilita­tion, Rep. Glenn "GT" Thomp­son's office and Sen. Pat Toomey's office.

All veterans, family members, and friends are invited. Free refreshments and a light lunch will be provided. For more information, call VCI at 255-0355.
