Army veteran Michael Turek, 82, of Bellwood places a rose on the Law Enforcement Memorial on Thursday outside the Blair County Courthouse. The flower is in honor of Turek’s son, Ronald J. Turek, of the Blair Township Police Department, who died in the line of duty in March 1985. The yearly ceremony included music, prayer and the laying of a single rose for each of the dozen area officers whose names are inscribed on the memorial.
