Bellwood-Antis School Board approves budget with tax hike

BELLWOOD — Members of the Bellwood-Antis School Board unanimously approved their balanced budget Tuesday night, including a 2.99% tax increase for the 2026-27 school year. The tax increase will raise the district’s millage rate to 12.0589, totaling about $12.06 per $1,000 of assessed property value. Porch fire damages city house

A fire in a space between the underside of the second floor porch and the ceiling of the first floor porch at the rear of an apartment house on the 2200 block of Broad Avenue on Tuesday afternoon caused about $400 in damage, according to city Fire Chief Adam Free.
