BEDFORD – A Breezewood man entered guilty pleas in three cases Friday in Bedford County Court and is expected to be sentenced to eight to 22 years in a state correctional institution.
Reginald G. Roundtree, 51, pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault, two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count of possession of liquefied ammonia gas, one count of operating a meth lab, one count of risking a catastrophe, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.
The charges stem from three separate incidents, according to a press release from the Bedford County District Attorney Bill Higgins.
On June 10, Roundtree physically assaulted two individuals at the Sheetz store in Breezewood. On July 24, he sold methamphetamine and marijuana to a confidential informant.
When officers went to Roundtree’s residence in August to serve an arrest warrant, they found Roundtree actively manufacturing meth. In addition, he was in possession of more than 644 grams of the drug.
Last week, Roundtree was recorded on the county jail’s phone system soliciting a commonwealth witness to lie when called to testify in his trial. A criminal complaint was filed for that offense Thursday charging Roundtree with intimidation of a witness and solicitation to commit perjury.
The plea agreement will include a guilty plea to those charges as well as an outstanding DUI case. Sentencing has been scheduled for June 17.
