Sentencings

The following sentencings were filed in Blair County Court. Although some cases may be more than a year old, the Mirror publishes them in the interest of complete reporting. They are not available until they are sent by a judge to the Prothonotary’s Office.

The following defendants pleaded guilty to charges listed and were sentenced as follows:

– Oliver T. Johnson, 34, 1917 12th Ave., Altoona, sentenced Jan. 7, 2013, to one-two years in jail for possession with intent to deliver and a $200 fine, filed by Altoona police Feb. 19, 2011; to the same penalty for the same crime filed by Altoona police Feb. 24, 2011, and April 3, 2011; and one-nine years in jail and a $400 fine for possession with intent to deliver and criminal conspiracy, filed by Altoona police April 4, 2011.

The following defendants were placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for 12 months on the charge of DUI and some to lesser offenses.

Each must complete 25 hours of community service.

– Kelsi L. Bergmann, 27, 305 N. Fifth Ave., Altoona, charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy, two counts of retail theft and two counts of stolen property by Logan Township police on June 22, 2012; and two counts of criminal conspiracy, two counts of retail theft and two counts of receiving stolen property by Logan Township police on March 18, 2012.

– Dwayne Garman, 25, 790 Clark St., Gallitzin, charged with theft by unlawful taking and possession of drug paraphernalia by Allegheny Township police on Dec. 2, 2011.

– Laura A. Havens, 28, 324 Maple Ave., Altoona, charged with retail theft by Blair County District Attorney Feb. 17, 2012.

– Shawn Harris, 32, 1220 13th Ave., Altoona, sentenced Nov. 19, 2012, to $300 fine and 12 months’ probation for accident involving damage to unattended vehicle/property filed by state police May 29, 2012.

– Harry McCartney, 23, 910 Old Route 22, Duncansville, sentenced Nov. 19, 2012, to $150 fine and three years’ probation for simple assault and disorderly conduct filed by Martinsburg police July 3, 2012.

– Michelle L. Shaw, 39, 406 Fifth St., Altoona, sentenced Nov. 19, 2012, to $200 fine and nine-23 1/2 months in jail for possession with intent to deliver filed by Altoona police Aug. 17, 2011.

– Clyde R. Bott, Jr., 31, 1112 Sixth Ave., Altoona, sentenced Nov. 19, 2012, to $100 fine and two years’ probation for simple assault filed by Altoona police July 11, 2012.
