PITTSBURGH (AP) – The newborn daughter of a western Pennsylvania woman who was pregnant when she was fatally shot last month has also died.

The Cambria County coroner will investigate the death of Aubreanna Kovalcik, but state police don’t expect autopsy results for six to eight weeks due necessary laboratory tests.

The baby’s mother, Caressa Kovalcik, 23, died after police say her boyfriend shot her in their Windber apartment on May 31. The baby was delivered by C-section shortly before Caressa Kovalcik died, and was later moved to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where the baby died early Friday.

Denver Blough, 25, remained in the Cambria County Prison on Friday on criminal homicide and other charges.
