Ford recalls vehicles, issues do-not-drive order

Ford is recalling almost 420,000 vehicles because of a seat belt issue that may result in an injury if a crash occurs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report Tuesday that the recall includes certain Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles with model years 2018 through 2022. The automaker separately said that it was recalling more than 4,600 Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles and issuing a do-not-drive warning due to a suspension-related issue. Penelec electricity prices increase

Customers who use Penelec as their power generation supplier are paying more for their electricity. Penelec’s residential price increased from 11.75 cents per kilowatt hour to 13.14 cents per kilowatt hour on June 1 due to higher auction prices, said Lauren Siburkis, program manager, transmission communications for First Energy Corp, Penelec’s parent company. For the average Penelec residential customer, the monthly bill impact will be an increase of approximately 6%. WASHINGTON — U.S. job openings jumped in April as the labor market looked resilient despite economic uncertainty caused by the Iran war. U.S. employers posted 7.6 million job vacancies in April, the Labor Department reported Tuesday, up from 6.9 million in March and most since May 2024.
