Giant, Martin's expand wellbeing services

The Giant Co., known locally as Giant and Martin's, announced an expansion of its wellbeing services to support customers taking GLP-1 medications. Through personalized nutrition guidance, pharmacy expertise and wellness resources, the offering helps customers build healthy habits, achieve sustainable results and improve their overall health.

According to a July 2026 Gallup National Health and Well-Being Index survey, about 11% of U.S. adults reported actively using a GLP-1 medication for weight loss in 2026, up from just 3% in 2024. Gallup also noted that usage for weight loss has nearly quadrupled in two years.

All Giant and Martin's pharmacies are participating in the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program being offered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This program provides eligible Medicare Part D patients with access to certain GLP-1 medications for weight loss and weight management through Dec. 31, 2027. Eligible patients have a $50 copay. Customers should consult with their healthcare provider about program eligibility and for a prescription.
