The Independent Catholic Foundation recently moved into its new location at 1300 12th Ave., Altoona.
Established in 1990 to grow endowments for Catholic schools in Blair and Cambria counties, ICF has grown to 310 endowments benefitting Catholic parishes, schools and agencies throughout central Pennsylvania. Among the services offered are family endowments, donor-advised funds and agency custodial accounts. The ICF office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Penn Highlands hospitals recognized
Three Penn Highlands Healthcare hospitals have been recognized among the nation's cleanest by Becker's Hospital Review after earning five-star cleanliness ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Penn Highlands Brookville, Penn Highlands Elk and Penn Highlands Huntingdon each received the highest possible rating for hospital cleanliness based on patient responses to the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey. Nationwide, only 396 hospitals earned a five-star rating for cleanliness.
Total Health Dentistry to join Freedom Day USA
Total Health Dentistry in both Huntingdon and Altoona will thank military members with free dental services such as cleanings, exams, X-rays, fillings and extractions on Oct. 6 for Freedom Day USA.
"Our men and women of our Armed Forces make great personal sacrifices in order to secure and protect our freedoms," said Shilo VanHart and Dr. Jeffery Hartman, owners of Total Health Dentistry. "Their families have endured hardships and some have given all they have so that we may live in peace -- free to pursue our dreams. We joined Freedom Day USA to say 'Thank You' for their sacrifices and for our freedom, and to give them a Day of Free!"
Freedom Day USA is when businesses across the country provide a free service, product or gift to the members of the military and their immediate families, along with veterans. Veterans wanting dental care services need to call the office to prearrange an appointment time for this day.
