The Giant Company, known locally as Giant and Martin's, announced COVID-19 vaccines are now available at all Giant and Martin's in-store pharmacies.
COVID-19 vaccines are administered by immunizing Giant and Martin's pharmacists and specially trained pharmacy team members, subject to state regulations. Individuals can receive the updated vaccines if it has been at least two months since their last COVID-19 vaccine dose. In Pennsylvania, vaccines are available for patients ages 5 and above, and ages 3 and above in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. For minors, parental or legal guardian consent is required.
Walk-in vaccinations are available, but customers can save time by booking an appointment online at giantfoodstores.com/pages/tgc-vaccines or martinsfoods.com/pages/tgc-vaccines. Customers should bring their prescription insurance card, if applicable, and speak with a pharmacist to determine vaccine eligibility and availability. Coverage and copays vary by plan.
Chamber to discuss transportation, economy
The Blair County Chamber Breakfast Club meeting at 7:45 a.m. Oct. 1 at the Blair County Convention Center, will feature a panel discussion on major cross-modal investments in Blair County's transportation system that are significantly increasing our region's economic competitiveness.
Participating on the panel, moderated by ABCD Corp. President Stephen McKnight, are state Sen. Judy Ward, R-Blair; Vince Greenland, PennDOT District 9 director; Tracy Plessinger, executive director, Altoona-Blair County Airport Authority; and Robert Gleason, Amtrak board of directors. The panel will highlight those investments and how they are impacting our future economic and community development efforts.
