A Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant is now under construction behind the Holiday Inn Express next to the AMC Theatre complex off of Convention Center Boulevard in Allegheny Township.
MacKenzie Caron, Blair County Planning Commission regional planner, said BWW did not have to submit development plans for the project.
According to Caron, the independent restaurant was already accounted for back when the Convention Center Commons land development plan was submitted in 2013. The Convention Center Commons plan included the movie theater with attached shops and the hotel -- these two have already been built out. There were two additional structures included with that plan -- one being the stand-alone restaurant which is now Buffalo Wild Wings and the other building accounted for is an office-building-type structure.
Officials hope the restaurant will open in October.

LEGO business opening
Bricks & Minifigs Happy Valley, a one-stop shop to buy, sell, and trade all things LEGO, will open Saturday, Aug. 15, in the Benner Pike Shopping Center, 317 Benner Pike, State College.
The store is the first store opened by franchisee Zachary Barlow, a resident of the State College area. In addition, Bricks & Minifigs will provide an event space for birthday parties or special LEGO themed events like "Make-and-Take" events, Brick Derby races and more. The space will also be available for corporate workshops, mini-retreats, and team-building off-site meetings.
Bricks & Minifigs was founded in Portland, Ore., in 2009 and now operates many franchised stores in North America and Canada with more stores slated to open later this year.

Weis Markets launches annual school program
Weis Markets has announced that registration is now open for its annual Weis 4 School program. Pre-K through eight grade schools in Weis Markets' seven-state market area can register now through
Oct. 31 for the program, which is expected to generate $500,000 in donations from the Weis Markets Charitable Foundation. Weis 4 School will run through May 31.
Schools and customers can sign up for the program online at www.weis4school.com.
All schools ranging from pre-K through eighth grade are eligible to participate, including public, private, and religious schools, and daycare centers. Donation checks will be presented after the program concludes on May 31.
