Joe Kelly has been appointed as president of 1st Summit Bank, expanding his leadership role at the community bank as it continues to position itself for future growth.
Kelly, who currently serves as the Chief Credit Officer, will continue in that role while assuming his responsibilities as president. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization with a focus on supporting employees, strengthening relationships throughout the communities the bank serves and ensuring continued operational success.
Awards and honors
Patty Shaw, CEO of Shirley's Cookie Company, has been named as the recipient of the 2026 Lifetime Achievement for Business Excellence Award by the Blair County Chamber of Commerce.
Shaw will be honored Sept. 22 at the 2026 Business Excellence Dinner at the Blair County Convention center.
Jim Foreman of Blair County, Michael Krentzman of Centre County and John Pannizzo of Mifflin County, members of the Kish Bank Board of Directors, have been appointed to also serve on Kish Bancorp's Board of Directors.
Additionally, Brandon Zlupko of Centre County and Philip Bomberger of Juniata County have been appointed to the Kish Bank Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Jim Brown, president of J.R. Brown Construction, Inc. in Hollidaysburg, was awarded the Pennsylvania
Builders Association's Builder of the Year Award. The award recognizes a builder member who has demonstrated professionalism, business ethics, and distinguished service to their local, state, and national associations.
Brown has spent decades being an advocate for the home building industry. He is a past president of the Mid-Penn Building Industry Association (formerly the Blair Bedford Builders Association). He has also served as the president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association and a national delegate to the National Association of Home Builders. Brown has served on many committees and councils where his involvement has helped to advocate for policies that benefit builders, improve industry standards, and support community development across Pennsylvania.
