Developer wants to build Chipotle in Park Hills Plaza

An Illinois company wants to build a Chipotle in Park Hills Plaza.

Quattro Development of Oak Brook has requested a setback variance in connection with the location of the trash bin enclosure for the project.

Among Quattro’s justifications for a setback variance are a desire to minimize the building lot acreage, so as not to take any more common plaza parking spaces than necessary; to accommodate a drive-around lane for online order pickups; and for aesthetics, according to Owen England, Quattro director of business development.

The development proposal calls for the pickup window to serve only customers who have ordered online ahead of time, according to township Planning Director Cassandra Schmick.

That assuages local officials’ concern that there would be extensive queuing in the lot, as there would be no need for customers to wait for the restaurant staff to cook for them, Schmick said.

There are no plans to close the Chipotle at Logan Town Centre, which is a high-revenue-generating location, Schmick said.
