Years in existence: We began as High Hopes Inc. and merged into Dreams Go On Inc. (with a subline of High Hopes) 20-plus years ago
Total number Employees: Eight part-time employees (certified instructors) and a variety of dedicated volunteers and a variety of horses.
Type of nonprofit: Therapeutic horseback riding program
Populations served: Riders age 5 years through adults, in Blair County, with physical, emotional or behavioral challenges.
Area(s) of focus: Our therapeutic horseback riding program provides riding services to children and adults who are physically challenged, receive mental health, behavioral health or family therapy services. We work both the mind and the body through horses.
What services or programs does your nonprofit provide? We provide therapeutic riding sessions, private riding lessons, unmounted horse socialization programs, horse camp programs, field trips and horse training and boarding.
Upcoming event(s): Our new barn is being built that will provide Dreams Go On with the ability to provide additional services and programs to our community (Spring grand opening). We also provide fundraising events throughout the year to supplement our budget:
– Altoona Mirror 2025 Season of Sharing recipient (until Jan. 31)
– May 1: Dream Derby – Night at the Races
– July 24: Blair County Strikes Back at Autism (we assist with this event)
– Sept. 27: Lehman Engineers Trail Ride & Walk

Additional information: We are always looking for volunteers (16 years of age and up) to help us provide a quality program to our clients.
