Cambria visitor spending reaches $314.8 million

Cambria County’s visitor spending hit $314.8 million in 2024, according to a report prepared for the Pennsylvania Office of Tourism by Tourism Economics and Oxford Economics Company. Cambria County’s tourism industry is said to be fully recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the report, Cambria County generated $314.8 million in visitor spending, a $14 million increase over 2023.
Visitor spending in Cambria County by category totaled $22.6 million on lodging; $72.1 million on food and beverage; $46.3 million on retail; $64 million on recreation; and $109.8 million on transportation.

Penn Stater Hotel renovations completed
Scholar Hotels has announced the completion of a comprehensive renovation of the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center.
A grand opening is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 9.
The event will feature guided tours of the newly reimagined spaces, including modernized guest rooms, refreshed conference and meeting areas and redesigned public spaces.
The renovation project focused on both design and functionality, creating spaces that blend contemporary comfort with the warmth and character of the Penn State community. Upgrades include modern furnishings, enhanced in-room amenities, state-of-the-art meeting technology and revitalized interiors.
