Ambassador visits local firm

McLanahan Corp. recently welcomed Elita Kuzma, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the United States of America, to its office and facility.

The connection between McLanahan and Latvia is personal, as Astride McLanahan, corporate treasurer and member of the Board of Directors, and wife to Chairman of the Board Michael McLanahan, was born and raised in Latvia until immigrating to the United States when she was 9 years old.

The ambassador met with Michael McLanahan and Sean McLanahan, President and CEO, and toured the manufacturing facility. Throughout the tour, Kuzma talked to employees about their role with the company and the longevity of the family-owned operation. She continued to highlight to employees the great value in working for a family-owned company with such a rich history, as McLanahan is celebrating its 190th anniversary this year.

The purpose of the visit was to showcase Latvia as an attractive destination for both travel and business. The ambassador emphasized Latvia's highly skilled workforce and advanced infrastructure. She will continue to visit and host U.S. businesses promoting Latvia's offerings in hopes to expand Latvia's international business potential.
