Holland Bros. wins honors
Holland Bros. Meats, Duncansville, won national recognition at the 2025 American Cured Meat Championships in Kansas City, Mo. The event is held in conjunction with the annual convention of the American Association of Meat Processors.
The ACMC draws participants from across the United States. This year, there were 873 entries in 30 product classes, making it the largest event since 2012. In total, 76 AAMP members participated in the competition.
Holland Bros. Meats was awarded reserve grand champion in three categories: Country bacon - dry cured; frankfurters/wieners - emulsified; and smoked turkey.
This marks the 10th consecutive year Holland Bros. Meats has won national awards at the event.
Giant Co. offers vaccinations
Flu and pneumonia vaccinations are now available at all Giant and Martin's pharmacies.
Walk-ins are welcome, but customers can also make an appointment. Most insurance plans cover flu shots at $0 copays, including Medicare Part B.
Giant and Martin's pharmacies also offer pneumococcal vaccinations, which can be administered at the same time as a flu shot. The CDC recommends pneumococcal vaccination for all children younger than five years old and all adults 50 years or older.
