New hires and promotions
Christopher Fiumara has been appointed as chief marketing and business development officer at CJL Engineering, which has an office in Johnstown.
In this newly integrated leadership role, Fiumara will spearhead the company’s global marketing initiatives and growth strategy, with a focus on expanding market reach, forging strategic partnerships and driving customer engagement.
Bryan Binduga has been hired by Reliance Bank as vice president of information technology. With nearly 30 years of experience in information technology strategy, information security, and operational leadership, Binduga is poised to make a significant impact on the bank’s IT initiatives.
Binduga is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Awards and honors
Stephanie Richards and Jaime Plunkett were among the winners of Conemaugh Health Systems prestigious LifePoint Health Mercy Award. The Mercy Award is LifePoint Health’s highest honor, recognizing one individual from each of its facilities who exemplifies the spirit of compassion, dedication and selfless service on which the company was founded.
Richards is a registered nurse serving both the emergency and med-surg departments at Conemaugh Miners Medical Center, while Plunkett is a pharmacist at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.
Jill Keeney, Charles A. Dana professor of biology, was named the 58th recipient of the Beachley Award for Distinguished Teaching at Juniata College.
Sarah Worley, professor of communication, who graduated from Juniata in 2000, received the 36th annual Beachley Award for Distinguished Academic Service.
T.J. Firneno, assistant professor of biology, was honored with the 30th Henry ’57 and Joan Gibbel Award for Distinguished Teaching, which goes to faculty members with fewer than six years of service at Juniata.
Randy Bennett, professor of biology, earned the fourth annual Eagle Advising Award, which is awarded to a faculty or staff member who has served as an adviser for at least three years.
Award nominations are received from students, faculty, administrators, alumni and trustees. Selection committees for each award are chaired by the college provost and include the college president, student government president and the three most recent award recipients for each award.
