Business Bootcamp to return in new virtual format
The Business Bootcamp at Penn State Altoona is back.
Held virtually, the Bootcamp is open to entrepreneurs in all development stages to provide resources and education to help turn ideas into successful businesses.
This eight-week series will help entrepreneurs become business-ready by giving free, professional support from mentors and speakers.
The first session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 17. Subsequent classes take place each Wednesday through May 5. Bootcamp participants will be eligible to participate in the Bootcamp Business Plan Competition, with a chance to win up to $5,000 in prize money to help fund their business.
Registration is available online at https://sites.psu.edu/sheetzcenter/events/business-boot-camp/.
The Business Bootcamp is presented by the Altoona LaunchBox, supported by the Hite family and is part of the Invent Penn State initiative.
Jersey Mike’s celebrates ‘Month of Giving’
Pink Zone is joining forces with three Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants in State College and Altoona for the 11th annual March “Month of Giving” campaign to fund local charities.
The campaign will culminate with Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on March 31, when the three Jersey Mike’s locations will give 100% of the day’s sales — not just profit — to Pink Zone.
On Day of Giving, local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators throughout the country will donate their resources and every single dollar that comes in to more than 200 different charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
This March, Jersey Mike’s hopes to raise a record-breaking $8 million for local charities striving to fulfill their missions and make a difference.
Throughout March, customers can make donations through the Jersey Mike’s mobile app or onsite. On Day of Giving, Jersey Mike’s will offer free delivery through the Jersey Mike’s app.
Since the Month of Giving began in 2011, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than
$32 million for charities.
