Local company to join rolling rally
Freedom Excursions by Scully LLC will join hundreds of motorcoach companies from around the country for a rolling rally around the U.S. Capitol and National Mall in Washington, D.C. today.
“Like many local small businesses, my operation has been parked by the coronavirus. Our motorcoaches sit idling while my employees remain at home. … Without help from the federal government, I fear that many of our fellow family owned transportation companies throughout the country will not return to the road,” said Debbie Scully of Freedom Excursions by Scully LLC in a statement.
The company looks forward to joining hundreds of fellow motorcoach operators through this event from Pennsylvania Bus Association, the American Bus Association and the United Motorcoach Association.
The current economic remedies available to the small businesses don’t address sectors like ours that will take much longer to recover from the current crisis, ssid Peter Pantuso, President & CEO of the American.
The one-day rally seeks to remind members of Congress and the Trump administration that the industry — which has laid off or furloughed more than 90 percent of its workforce nationally in the wake of COVID-19 — needs federal assistance. The motorcoach industry has requested $15 billion in federal grants and loan guarantees and modifications to Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program.
