Denmark PM calls for an early election

COPENHAGEN — Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has announced that the Scandinavian country will hold a parliamentary election on March 24.

She is giving voters a say several months early as the country digests a standoff with the U.S. over President Donald Trump’s designs on Greenland.

Congo, US agree to health partnership

KINSHASA — The United States signed a $1.2 billion health partnership with Congo that ties new funding to Congo spending more at home.

The State Department says it provides up to $900 million over five years. Congo says it adds $300 million in domestic health spending.

The money targets HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, and maternal and child deaths.
