Laurie Stepanek and Michael G. White were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. June 19, 2021, at The Florida Aquarium, Tampa, Fla.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Sandra Stepanek of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The bridegroom is the son of M. Gordon White Jr. (deceased) and Jane White of Altoona.
Pastor Heath Abel performed the double-ring ceremony.
Music was provided by Pinellas Strings.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Holly Miller was the matron of honor.
Debbie (White) Utesch, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid.
Anil P. Mehta served as best man.
Groomsman was Matt Utesch, brother-in-law of the groom.
Ushers were Sydney Utesch, niece of the groom, and Tyson Utesch, nephew of the groom.
The reception was held at The Florida Aquarium.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the Sunset Beach Pavilion, Treasure Island, Fla.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to San Juan and Vieques, Puerto Rico.
They live in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. White is a 1994 graduate of Washington High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a 1998 graduate of Texas A&M, with a bachelor of science degree in marine biology; and a 2004 graduate of the University of Miami, with a doctorate in neuroscience.
She is employed at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.
Mr. White is a 1991 graduate of Altoona Area High School; a 1996 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience and biological sciences; and a 2005 graduate of the University of Miami with a doctorate in neuroscience.
He is employed by the Food & Drug Administration, Silver Spring, Md.
