Penn State student selected to join honor society

BATON ROUGE, La. — Mahdi Ahmadpour of Altoona was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Penn State University.

Scholar gets Phi Kappa Phi grant to study abroad

BATON ROUGE, La. — Elizabeth Johnson of Hollidaysburg recently was awarded a Study Abroad Grant worth $1,000 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Johnson is one of 75 students nationwide to receive the award.

The grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers from campuses that have Phi Kappa Phi chapters, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad.

Currently majoring in geosciences at Penn State University, Johnson will use the grant to study abroad in Japan.

Omicron Delta Kappa welcomes new members

CHAMBERSBURG — The Wilson College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, announced the induction of 31 outstanding students, faculty and administrators into its circle.

Student inductees include Eric Arbogast of Duncansville, Sarah Disney of Roaring Spring and Hope Dively of East Freedom.

Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes and develops collegiate leaders, fostering collaboration across campus communities and promoting the values of scholarship, service, integrity, character and fellowship.
