LVC student earns award

ANNVILLE — Shelly Bliss of Huntingdon was recognized for academic achievement as part of Lebanon Valley College’s Inquiry celebration.

Bliss, a graduate of Mount Union High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science at The Valley and won the following award: Outstanding Student in Spanish.

Students join Phi Kappa Phi

A number of local students from Penn State University recently were elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

They are Abigail Christine of Sandy Ridge, Kathleen Dambeck of Altoona, Trissa Smith of Portage, Hannah Gampe of Tyrone and Jordan Sneath of Duncansville.
