Future doctors mark Match Day
SCRANTON — On Friday, March 20, 111 soon-to-be graduates of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine learned their residency placements during the National Resident Matching Program’s Match Day.
Match Day is an event at which all fourth-year M.D. students around the country simultaneously open their envelopes to learn where they will spend the next three to seven years training in their chosen specialty.
Local students:
n Alexander Greenstone of Altoona matched into Internal Medicine at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine in New York.
n Dominic Gregorio of DuBois matched into Emergency Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.
n Trenton Husick of Saxton matched into Emergency Medicine at UPMC Medical Education in Pennsylvania.
